When I think of exotic vacations, I think of Madagascar and unknown beaches. The one place that slips my mind is India! Turns out, India is full of culture and history, but also lovely beaches and colorful towns. When I was researching, the state that came up the most was Goa, located on the western coast of the Indian peninsula. It's known as a "tourist's paradise" and the more researched the more I found this to be true! It's got many historical sites, such as the Basilica of Bom Jesus, or the Cathedral of the Good Jesus.
Interesting fact; one way Goa is different from the rest of India is that they celebrate Christmas with decorations. As for the rest of the country, they don't celebrate using decorations and lights. Also, Goa has many interesting events, such as the carnival! It's full of parades and parties all over the state, an annual celebration every February.
Goa is on the top of my list of travels because you can relax on a beautiful beach at a five star hotel, while still having the option to go see the historical places! It's got a great spot right on the beach and many fabulous amenities.
