Downtown Festival

Last Friday my small town had an adorable downtown street fair called Get Downtown! and it was so much fun!! This just goes to show you that you don't have to take a 7 hour flight to find culture. You just have to take advantage of community events that you wouldn't usually go to, and you'll discover that your city/town is full of colorful cultures and activities!
So, in 2 months from Monday, a few friends and I will be boarding a plane to head to Paris, France! I may not be able to post while in Paris, but I'll keep my travel journal with me. When I return I'll post them one day at a time with the date as the title. This way I can post day by day entries, even though I can't do it while actually in Paris. I'll try and post some more before then! Au revoir!

Goa, India

When I think of exotic vacations, I think of Madagascar and unknown beaches. The one place that slips my mind is India! Turns out, India is full of culture and history, but also lovely beaches and colorful towns. When I was researching, the state that came up the most was Goa, located on the western coast of the Indian peninsula. It's known as a "tourist's paradise" and the  more researched the more I found this to be true!  It's got many historical sites, such as the Basilica of Bom Jesus, or the Cathedral of the Good Jesus.

Interesting fact; one way Goa is different from the rest of India is that they celebrate Christmas with decorations. As for the rest of the country, they don't celebrate using decorations and lights. Also, Goa has many interesting events, such as the carnival! It's full of parades and parties all over the state, an annual celebration every February.
Goa is on the top of my list of travels because you can relax on a beautiful beach at a five star hotel, while still having the option to go see the historical places! If anyone reading this has the urge to travel there and in need of a hotel, check out the Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa on Arossim beach. It's got a great spot right on the beach and many fabulous amenities.
Goa is a great place to get away from everyday life! I hope this inspired you to check it out!

These pictures are from a trip I took a few years back that I decided to dig up! I went to Jamaica, and although my memories are a bit foggy, it was a great trip. I had so much fun with my family! The water was so clear, you could see every fish and every shell.  I think we stayed at a beaches resort, so the hotel wasn't expensive! I loved every bit of that trip, and the pictures bring back so many memories!

Hello! I love to travel, and I've always wanted to share that, so I figured a blog would be the perfect way! I've been to some pretty beautiful places, and since I'm not travelling at the moment, over the next few posts, I'll be sharing my past trips! The pictures above are from my trip to Ambergris Cay, Belize that I took this winter! I was amazing and just beautiful! Everyone there is so kind, and there is so much stuff to buy in the stands they have set up. Hand-made jewelery and woodwork, and beautiful artwork. It was a great experience and someday I'd love to go back!
